Team History

The Cincinnati Reds are one of the oldest franchises in the league, and certainly one of the oldest midwestern sports teams. The franchise got its start as the Cincinnati Red Stockings in 1882, and they’ve evolved from the Reds, to the Redlegs, and finally back to the Reds in 1959.

In their more than a century on the diamond, the Reds have won five World Series titles, nine National League Pennants, three National League Central Division titles, and seven National League West Division titles. It’s been a wild ride as a Reds fan — luckily with more than a few titles to make it worth the fandom.

Cincinnati’s rosters have been stacked with Hall of Famers throughout the years, including Johnny Bench, Bary Larkin, Ernie Lombardi, Eppa Rixey, and Edd Roush. In fact, the team has one of the highest numbers of affiliated players in the National Baseball Hall of Fame.

Whether you’re shopping for photos from The Big Red Machine era of the 1970s or you’d rather a modern action shot of all-star Eugenio Suárez at the plate, our Cincinnati Reds MLB photo collection has what you’re looking for. At Photo File, we’re much more than fairweather fans — we’re curators of MLB history.
